A Special Message from Our Founder

The Unmasking Child Exploitation Masquerade Gala Dinner is an upscale event that will be held in the Museum at Prairie Fire, one of Overland Park’s most beautiful venues. The Gala will celebrate achievements and “unmask” the most overlooked group of children within the Kansas City metro community and throughout the United States.

We will be celebrating 10.18 Strategy’s impact to more than 2,200 traumatized & at-risk children and fundraising for future impact. The leadership team & board of directors of 10.18 Strategy would like to invite you to this fun red carpet gala event. The festivities will include a fabulous catered meal by Coco Bolos, exciting keynote speaker, entertainment and fun surprises throughout the night. As a result, all funds raised will benefit the life-saving programs of 10.18 Strategy. This will be a legendary night for a vital cause!

Free valet parking is being provided for all of our guests due the very active night life surrounding the Museum at Prairie Fire. So, just arrive at the front entrance of the Museum and our valet attendants will take care of you.

No, we want our guests to be as comfortable as possible. We have chosen to do a masquerade gala this year to emphasize our theme of “Unmasking Child Exploitation in the United States.” Also, guests can choose to purchase a pre-selected mask with their ticket (pickup at the gala), bring their own, or not wear one at all. We will have a limited number of masks available to purchase at the event, so we do encourage pre-ordering during your ticket purchase.

Formal – black tie optional (suit and tie and dresses). Formal attire means that guests are encouraged to wear the following:

  • Men, a dark suit with a shirt and tie (if they don’t wish to wear a tuxedo).
  • Women should wear a floor-length gown, knee-length cocktail dress, a pantsuit, or dressy separates.
  • Detailed formal attire guide: https://www.theknot.com/content/formal-wedding-attire

However, more than your attire, we desire for you to be there and to be yourself! Some of our guests really like to dress up and some do not! The evening is mostly about our message and having a good time together. So, don’t let the attire be a deciding factor for your attendance!

Older children are welcomed to attend. We recommend that due to the mature nature of our content that they are a minimum of 12 and depending on their maturity level.

Cashless means that we will not be able to receive cash payments for auction or purchased items (i.e. masks). So, all transactions outside of the end of the evening donations will require a digital purchase through credit card, phone or online transactions.

No! Victimized and exploited children are an unfortunate reality, and we refuse to sugarcoat it. However, it doesn’t mean that explicit or heavy content is required. Amid a passionate desire to gain support, it’s easy to share graphic details, thinking it will give weight to the urgency and importance of a mission. Also, anyone in the trenches facing these complex realities understands this struggle, it is one that we have had ourselves. We don’t want you to know everything we know; even more, we don’t want a single child ever to experience it!

There Will be An emphasis on Hope

We believe we can communicate the importance of our mission without leaving you feeling hopeless and heavy. Also, we believe that consideration of our guest’s potential trauma history is needed when selecting content and speakers. So, this means we give considerable effort to provide you with pertinent information without unnecessary or explicit details. We also emphasize our message with the solutions vs. the problems. Because, even amid the darkest of realities, there is hope! Consequently, this event will be a night of hope! It only takes a small amount of light to end the darkness. We are here to shine a light and unmask child exploitation within the United States!
